About this deal

plus the tremendous upgrade to the 35 F2, I’m leaning more and more to that ‘standard’ size for my street work. With a very even and impressive performance, weather resistance, great handling and high-quality finish it would be hard not to like this Fujifilm XF 35mm f/2 R WR lens. While the lens is actually a 35mm lens, it performs more like a traditional 50mm because of the APS-C crop.

The weight and size differences are insignificant in my book and it comes down to optical performance. The lens features a weather- and dust-resistant structure with eight seals on the lens barrel keeping the lens protected from rain, dust and splashes of water when shooting outdoors. I have also used the XF 35mm f/2 R WR extensively during our travels on the Fujifilm X-T1 and Fujifilm X-Pro2 cameras.

Indeed while testing each lens side-by-side, I experienced few occasions where the older XF 35mm f1. Sure, it’s nice to have other lenses, but most photographers I encounter have them more from a place of want rather than a place of need. It’s a great piece of glass that must not be missed, even if this is not your native focal length this lens might just well win you over as it did me. These minor quibbles really shouldn’t matter when it comes time to take a photograph, but for me, and I’m sure many others, it can be a distraction at best, and lead to missing the image I want to capture—if an aperture ring has migrated on its own accord—at worst. Since this is such a great multi-purpose lens, I like bringing it to situations where you want to keep things small and light, and you don’t want to be annoying to the people around you with big camera gear.

I recently bought the 35mm f/2 and I have to admit that I like this lens better than its older and faster brother. Of course each lens must be used on its own brand of cameras; the Fuji won't work on LEICA, and even with an adapter the LEICA lenses become quite primitive on Fuji. All of the images in this page have been shot in Jeju, Korea as I was leaning Korean language at the university.Although I haven’t noticed much of a difference between the Super and the HT-EBC lens coating found on some of the other lenses. I’m not going to talk a whole lot about the technical aspects of the Fujinon XF 35mm f/2 R WR lens, as that information is already plentiful on the internet. I shoot the X-Pro 1 at the moment, do you think there will be much difference in the lens operations with the X-Pro 1? When a street- and lifestyle photographer whos absolute all-time favourite focal length is a 50mm full frame eq.
