About this deal

The torso, hands and feet all appear to be new and Nightcrawler specific and the overall build strikes a good balance between the thinnest Spider-Man body and the bulkier medium build bodies like Winter Soldier and Spider-Man 2099. One thing that’s a little weird about this release is that this is an action figure of an actual member of X-Force, being released as part of the X-Force Marvel Legends series… in his non-X-Force classic costume. His pointed ears jut out from behind his sculpted sideburns, and the hair is beautifully sculpted and swept back. The second head offers a broad smile and I’m very glad that Hasbro included this one as it very much suits his personality, particularly in the earlier appearances.

This premium 6-inch-scale Nightcrawler figure is highly articulated and features an X-Men comic-inspired design, making it another worthy addition to the Marvel Legends Series. There is some excellent definition in his facial details, the bushy eyebrows look like they’re judging me a bit. Honestly, this is a bit of a surprise, as traditionally Hasbro would give us a more obscure costume choice for a character and then save the classic/most-requested version for later on.While Wave 1 brought us a very iconic-styled Magneto, Wave 2 brings us Magnus in his new black and purple costume from X-Men 97. The other thing that has my disappointed about this figure is what’s not included: any kind of teleportation power effects piece. The bad news is that it’s not bendy—I’m not sure that current toy laws would allow that in a mass-market action figure with a tail this thin. While the prior Magneto only had one head (with helmet permanently attached), this one has two heads—both unhelmeted and showing off Erik’s flowing white hair.

With sticky hands, a sharp tail, and piercing yellow eyes, The trouble-making Mutant Nightcrawler scales walls and teleports from place to place.Nightcrawler now has double-pinless arms and legs, sculpted gloves and boots, plus shading around his eyes on the heads. This is about as perfect an accessory as I could think to include with him, and he’s a lot of fun to pose with it. Also, I could be mistaken, but I believe there are butterfly shoulder joints concealed beneath his tunic. This collectible 6-inch scale Marvel figure is inspired by Nightcrawler's appearance in Marvel Studios' X-Men '97 animated series.

Nightcrawler’s costume inhibits how close he can hold his arms up over his head, but otherwise there’s really nothing getting in the way of putting him into deep crouches, leaping poses, and however else you wanna pose him up. Finally, we’ve got a figure whose success will really depend on the release of the new animated series, in my opinion. It feels like Hasbro has given us a ton of excellent X-Men figures in a short space of time, and I haven’t even dug into the Apocalypse Wave yet! Yeah, there’s some bleed through on the red paint, which is a shame, but surprisingly there’s none at all on the white. All three heads look like they popped straight out of some classic Dave Cockrum artwork, and I am totally pleased with the look of them all. It gives the thing a bit more of a detailed feel while keeping the integrity of the simpler lines of a bronze age costume.
