About this deal

If you want to sand between the layers of oil, just lightly rub over the surface with some 320 or 400-grit sandpaper to remove any raised grain and then wipe away the dust before applying the next coat of oil.

If the wood has been painted or waxed, you’ll have to remove that finish before you can oil the surface. This method allows any nibs or dust to be removed with very fine grade wire wool or fine abrasive paper between coats of Danish Oil if necessary. A high quality blend of tung oil and natural resins that penetrate the wood to provide a tough, durable and waterproof finish. In other words, whilst oiling, the coarse texture of the pad is evening out any bumpy patches and it is already removing any raised grain. Also, it might darken the wood, which could be a problem if you want to keep the oak's natural color. This is one of those finishing projects where pretty much anything can be justified, so enjoy the freedom! Danish Oil naturally has a low-sheen finish, which can be buffed slightly with a fine grade (000) wire wool. For most indoor furniture, I will move my way up through the sanding grits on a hand-held random orbit sander, beginning at 120, then going to 150 or 180 and finally finishing at 220.

coats on new oak doors, 240 grade rub between coats and when dry buff them with a clean dry cotton towel. It saves a lot of headaches during the finishing and I think it helps me get a serious smooth finish.Compliant with Materials and Articles in Contact with Food Regulations, Danish Oil is also ideal for the treatment of worktops and utensils used in the kitchen and dining areas, where contact with food, spills and exposure to water and other liquids are a frequent hazard to unprotected surfaces. The key point here Oscar is that Bubinga will darken naturally with exposure to UV light and to the air. Glad I did, very disappointed with the results, it's made everything way too dark, the previous red bubinga looks like a dull brown. Apply with a brush or lint-free cotton cloth and allow to penetrate for 5 to 10 minutes before wiping off the excess with a clean lint-free cloth.
