About this deal

A proper apology consists of conveying the 3 Rs: regret (genuine empathy with the other) responsibility (not blaming someone else) and remedy (your willingness to fix it). An inspiring and helpful book, Excellent Advice for Living is a must-have for anyone looking for practical advice on life. Kevin Kelly’s new book, Excellent Advice for Living, is a must-read for anyone seeking guidance on how to live a fulfilling life. So much so that simply showing up on bad days is worth far more than superhuman efforts on rare good days.

Having read all of Kevin Kelly’s previous books (and having read his 68 unsolicited bits of advice on his 68th birthday) I knew this book was going to be gold. Trust the 3-star product reviews because they tell both the good and the bad, which is the real state for most things. It's unfortunate when someone you carefully trained leaves; but it is worse if you don't train them and they stay. To avoid the annoyance of leaving things behind while on the road, keep your possessions visible and grouped together where possible. Kevin Kelly tells you right away he isn't reinventing the wheel and much, if not all, of this advice came to him from other sources, but just like him, it's on us to put it into practice and meditate on it. Stay open to trying things, and set aside any pressure to hold tight to a singular definition of success. He is the founder of the legendary WIRED magazine, worked with Stewart Brand on Whole earth catalog and so on.

But rather than dictate how to apply the wisdom presented, Kelly invites you to expand on each bit to fit your life and experience. The path to a better life won’t always be easy, but you can dodge some of the common pitfalls by absorbing a few bits of wisdom along the way. Whether you’re just starting out in life or looking to make a fresh start, Excellent Advice for Living is a must-read guide to help you navigate the complexities of the modern world and find your own path to happiness and success. In 100 years a lot of what we take to be true now will be proved to be wrong, maybe even embarrassingly wrong. We’re fortunate that Kevin Kelly has taken the time to put so much of his wisdom and excellent advice in this amazing new book!

Kevin Kelly is a fascinating person and has accumulated truly helpful and actionable pieces of advice in this short book. When out and about in the world, take a few seconds to identify the emergency exits in any new room, building, or transport you’ll spend more than a few minutes in. What can be a support here is to think of your progress in terms of the distance already covered rather than the distance you still have to go. Kevin has distilled complex and important ideas into simple, actionable advice: a compelling antidote to thinkism.

Instead, he offers us a glimpse into the trove of maxims he’s accumulated from a vast array of sources on his journey to date. Just as a tiny acorn contains a giant oak, each of these bite-size bits could grow into a lengthy book in its own right. Un personaje fuera de serie que sabe como transmitir la complejidad de forma creativamente sencilla.Kelly’s timeless advice covers an astonishing range, from right living to setting ambitious goals, optimizing generosity, and cultivating compassion. Kelly encourages us all to stay curious and embrace new experiences, which is a refreshing reminder in a world that often prioritizes routine and comfort over growth. If specializing in the esoteric doesn’t feel right for you, consider prototyping versions of more conventional approaches.

Often, that wisdom comes so simply worded as to appear trite — but it is the simplicity of a children’s book, or of a Zen parable: unvarnished elemental truth about what it means to be alive, hard-won and generously offered.Dig deeper and explore overlooked nuances, unexpected intersections, and unconventional conversations within this narrow field.
