The last thing I want is to play house with some spoiled ballerina, but I’ll do whatever it takes to protect my father’s legacy. Overall, this was a well thought out story with steam, a little action and openings for future stories with other characters.Didn't like the characters that much and not much mafia action is present except for a few pages in the beginning. Sasha Leone’s attention to detail and her ability to create atmospheric settings make the story come alive, immersing readers in a dark and alluring world. This book has some of my favorite tropes: Age Gap, Arranged Marriage, Mafia, Alpha Male, and a few others.While there are times they do "make love", there are other times that were a bit extreme for me; like when he uses the barrel of a loaded gun (he had his reason and it accomplished his goal), but that scene made me uncomfortable. then why was she *screaming proclamations of love* during sex and *wailing* after she found out that Nikolai killed him? The forbidden love between Gabriel and the protagonist sizzles on the pages, drawing readers deeper into their world with every turn. With a flair for creating intense chemistry and intricate plotlines, Leone crafts stories that keep readers eagerly turning the pages. The not knowing as well as the situations they both get into leaves you on pins and needles throughout most of this book.
